İ.Ü. Onkoloji Enstitüsü Temel Onkoloji Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul Serum Cyfra 21.1 levels of patients with lung cancer (n=67) were determined in parallel with the free DNA antibodies and TPS. The mean values related to healthy individuals were 1.4±2 ng/mL, an average of 16.2±2 ng/mL was measured in malignancy. The DNA and TPS levels were 252±2 U/mL and 441 ±2 U/L, respectively. Serum Cyfra 21.1 levels showed significant difference between the control groups and patients with lung malignancies of all histologic types. It was found that the DNA test did not provide any useful information. However, using TPS instead of TPA seems to be more appropriate for detecting malignancy. Combination of positive information from these two sources is likely to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and the efficiency of the therapeutic response. Keywords :
